What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to you and your family throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. Unlike medical providers, I do not perform clinical tasks or make decisions for you. My role is to walk beside you as a calm, steady companion — offering comfort measures, advocacy, education, and unwavering encouragement so you can feel safe, respected, and empowered throughout your unique journey.

My Personal Journey into Birth Work

Welcome! I'm Eszter, a birth doula and postpartum doula and a "crunchy mom."

I'm originally from Hungary and speak English and Hungarian (magyar)—feel free to reach out in either language.

My journey into birth work began after the birth of my son. We experienced a truly positive and peaceful home birth, and that experience transformed the way I viewed pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. What began as simple curiosity quickly grew into a deep calling to support other women on their own birth journeys.

I am deeply passionate about supporting mothers in having the most empowering, informed, and positive birth experience possible. My philosophy is simple: when a woman understands her options, she can make decisions that truly serve her, her body, and her baby.

Background

I am also a Physical Therapist Assistant, with a background rooted primarily in outpatient care. In this setting, I have supported individuals in restoring strength, mobility, and confidence through evidence-based movement.

Over the years, I have developed a deep passion for pelvic floor health, particularly during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I believe that true birth preparation extends far beyond due dates and birth plans—it begins with learning to move your body with intention and reconnecting with your deep core through conscious breathing and pelvic floor awareness.

As a doula, I integrate this clinical foundation into my support of growing families. I recognize the vital role that body awareness, functional movement, and pelvic health play during this transformative season of life.

A Little Bit About Me

In my free time, I love spending time with my family, whether we're relaxing at home or exploring new places together. I also enjoy staying active in the gym, where movement helps me recharge and feel grounded. When I'm not lifting weights, you can usually find me in the kitchen baking sourdough goodies—there's something so comforting about the process.

My Approach

I believe every birth is unique, and every family deserves warm, judgment-free support. Whether you are planning a home birth, hospital birth, or birth center birth — with or without pain medication — I trust in your strength and your body's wisdom, and I work to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and confident in your choices.

Some families hope for a calm, low-intervention experience; others plan to use an epidural, induction, or a cesarean — and many paths change along the way. There is no single "right" way to birth. I meet you where you are, help you prepare with evidence-based information, and honor what matters most to you in the setting you choose.

My role is to advocate for your choices, offer guidance, and provide calm, steady support throughout labor and the postpartum period. No matter how or where you birth, I am committed to helping you feel informed, respected, and in control of your experience.

I am here to walk beside you with compassion, knowledge, and unwavering support as you welcome your baby into the world.
